Centre has authorized NAFED and SFAC to procure 12 thousand tonnes onion to augment its availability in the market at moderate prices. <br/><br/>Talking to reporters in New Delhi today, Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said, National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED) will procure 10 thousand tonnes and small farmers agribusiness consortium (SFAC) will procure two thousand tonnes. <br/><br/>He said, MMTC will import two thousand tonnes of onion to augment its availability in the market. <br/><br/>Mr Paswan said, Commerce Ministry has been asked to fix Minimum export price of onion to check the outflow of supplies and bring down the prices.
