Centre assures all possible help as unprecedented floods batter Chennai

Centre is ready to provide all possible assistance to Tamil Nadu in view of unprecedented floods in Chennai. Talking to reporters outside Parliament today, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said the situation is critical in the area and Army, Navy and NDRF teams have been deployed in the city for relief and rescue operations. <br/><br/>He said the state government has also submitted a memorandum to the Centre for assistance. He said a Central team has alreaedy been sent there to assess the situation.<br/><br/>Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu expressed concern over the situation. He said the Centre is providing all possible assistance to Tamil Nadu government in relief and rescue operations.
