The Centre and the Assam government have taken steps to completely seal the Assam-Bangladesh border. Replying to an answer, Assam Water Resource minister Keshab Mahanta informed state assembly today that a total of 61 kilometre areas are remained unsealed in the Assam-Bangladesh border. <br/><br/>He said that the High Level Empowered Committee of the Home Ministry has sanctioned around 87 crore rupees to use moder technology in border sealing. Mr. Mahanta informed the house that government would use modern technology including electro optic sensors, Water Robots, Radars to complete fencing at river areas.
