The Centre has asked all the States to undertake extensive audit of toilets in urban areas over the next fifteen days and reach out to community representatives for the audit of functioning of toilets by addressing the problem of water availability. <br/><br/>.The exercise is to begin from tomorrow under Swacchata Pakwada to ensure that the toilets are functional. Urban Development Ministry in a release said, special camps are to be organized to clear payments to the beneficiaries for construction of individual household toilets. The Ministry has also advised the State and City Governments to involve media in the proposed activities for wider dissemination and for motivating people towards sanitation practices. The Ministry will soon launch 'Google Toilet Locator' for the benefit of the people of National Capital Region to help locating the nearest toilet for use.
