Centre asks States to take quick action against those involved in criminal activities against SCs & STs

Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot has said the States must take quick action on those who are involved in criminal activities against Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs).<br/><br/>Inaugurating the meeting on monitoring the implementation of constitutional safeguard for scheduled castes in New Delhi today, Mr Gehlot said criminal incidents against SCs, STs are increasing and they are not able to get justice as there are many loop holes in the law. Mr Gehlot said Government has added many new provisions in atrocities act.<br/><br/>Minister for States of Social Justice and Empowerment Vijay Sampla, Krishan Pal Gujar and Ramdas Athawale, Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes P. L. Punia were also present in Meeting.
