Centre has asked Chief Ministers, District Magistrates and superintendents of police of states to take proactive measures against the broadcast of unauthorised channels. Briefing reporters in New Delhi, Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu warned the cable operators against telecast of any unlicensed channels. He appealed to all concerned law enforcement agencies and the people to report to the I&B Ministry if they find any unauthorised telecast of channels on cable networks. <br/><br/>The Minister's direction came in the wake of reports of unauthorised telecast of peace Tv channel owned by controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik. He said, broadcast of unlicensed channels is a matter of concern for national security and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Rajyavardhan Rathore is monitoring the issue on regular basis. He said, the peace Tv had applied for permission in 2008 and 2009 but it was denied due to security reasons. <br/>Mr Naidu who is also holding the Urban Development portfolio said his Ministry has fixed nominal charge of one rupee per annum for land allotted for, hospitals, medical institutions, maternity centre, night shelters and orphanages in the national capital. He also announced redevelopment of seven colonies in Delhi, which includes Sarojini Nagar, Netaji Nagar, and Kasturba Nagar. <br/><br/>The total estimated cost of the project is over 32 thousand 800 crore rupees and it will be completed in 5 years in a phased manner. Mr Naidu said, the Ministry has also sanctioned 658 crore rupees to find ways to resolve the problem of decongestion of traffic in Delhi.
