The Centre has asked the States to put a cap on the fee charged by the private laboratories for dengue test. The direction came in view of reports that some private laboratories are charging exorbitantly from the patients. Union Health Minister J P Nadda today interacted with the State representatives through video conferencing in New Delhi and reviewed their preparedness to tackle vector-borne diseases including dengue,malaria and Japanese encephalitis during monsoon season.<br/><br/> The States include Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Kerala,Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka. During the meeting, Mr Nadda assured them to provide all possible assistance to deal with the situation. Mr Nadda also appealed to the people not to panic as arrangements are in place to deal with the disease. <br/> <br/>The Heatlh Minister suggested to the states to focus on preventive measures and testing facilities to check the spread of vector borne diseases.Mr Nadda also asked them to strengthen coordination with municipal corporations and urban departments for effective implementations of measures. Dengue is a viral disease which spread due to mosquito bite and it symptoms include fever, headache and muscle pain.<br/><br/>In Delhi, the city government has decided to open 250 to 300 fever clinics for the treatment of patients suffering form dengue.So far 39 cases have been reported in Delhi and its adjoining areas. People have been advised not to allow water logging in their residential areas to check breeding of mosquitoes.
