<span style="color: #222222;">Joint Secretary in the Home Ministry, Punya Salila Srivastava said that Ministry of Home Affairs in a letter today requested the States&nbsp; to provide police security to doctors and other medical staff, as needed, in the hospitals as well as the quarantine facilities where they are working.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">She said, Central Armed Police Forces are also working hard in&nbsp;contaning&nbsp;the spread of COVID-19 through improving community awareness, setting up quarantine camps and providing food to stranded workers. She said, NCC and NSS cadets and Civil Defence volunteers have come forward to render their services in fighting.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Ms Srivastava also said&nbsp;that&nbsp;the situation regarding essential supplies and commodities is satisfactory and is monitored at every level.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">&nbsp;&nbsp;</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">ICMR Head Scientist, Dr Raman Gangakhedkar said that we have tested 1,71,718 samples so far out of which 16,564 samples were tested yesterday. He said, 146 labs are functional under ICMR network, while 67 labs are in private sector.</span><br />
