Centre has asked states for deployment of adequate Police Forces to facilitate smooth passage of vehicles and collection of toll at National Highways. In its advisory, the Home Ministry said there is likelihood of shortage of currency notes post-demonetization at the toll plazas which may result in longer than normal traffic. <br/><br/>The Ministry urged the states to ensure the deployment of adequate Police Forces to avoid any potential law and order situation at the toll plazas.<br/><br/>Last Friday, the toll collection was resumed at highways and several steps have been taken including fee collection through credit and debit cards and acceptance of old currency note of 500 rupees till 15th of this month to ease the hardship of the people.
