State governments have been asked to take appropriate action against the responsible persons in the mismanagement of mid-day meal scheme in schools. In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, minister of state Human Resource Development, D Purandeswari said, few complaints on issues of misappropriation of mid-day meal funds, supply of poor quality of food grains, fake enrollment of children, serving unhygienic food are received through media reports.
