<br/>The Central has asked Gujarat Government for not allowing breaking of US Ship Platinum-II anchored at Alang Ship Yard near Bhavnagar in Gujarat. The Ministry of Environment and Forest has asked Gujarat Maritime Board that the Ship has found radioactive material with material contaminated by polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) and asbestos-containing material. Earlier, the Central technical team has inspected the ship last month and handed over its report to the Center. Meanwhile, the environment groups have threatened to approach Supreme Court if Gujarat Government will go ahead for breaking of this controversial Ship.
