The Centre has asked Union Ministries to ensure austerity measures so that the public expenditure remains within the budgetary limits in order to contain the fiscal deficit. The Finance Minister, Mr. Pranab Mukherjee asked the financial advisors of different ministries to spend on the priority sector rather than on the non-priority sector.<br/>
