The Centre today approved 1,660 crore rupees for National Highways projects in eight states. The states are Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Tripura, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland. The projects length of 454 kilometers were cleared by the standing finance committee of Road and Transport Ministry at a meeting in New Delhi.<br/><br/>The projects include upgradation of Allahabad-Mirzapur section in Uttar Pradesh, upgradation of Malewada to Chimur section in Maharashtra and widening of Machilipatnam to Avanigadda section on National Highways in Andhra Pradesh.
