Centre approves proposals worth Rs. 23 cr to create sports infrastructure

The Centre has approved the proposals of worth 23 crore rupees to create sports infrastructure facilities in four states. A Sports Ministry release says, a multi-purpose hall will be constructed in the tribal district of Kondagaon in Chhattisgarh for which six crore rupees will be provided to the state government. In Haryana, five crore rupees will be provided to the state government to lay a synthetic hockey playfield in the sports complex at Hisar. A multi-purpose indoor hall one each in Karauli district of Rajasthan and Senapati district of Manipur will be constructed at a cost of twelve crore rupees.AIR correspondent reports that the financial assistance has been approved under the Urban Sports Infrastructure. scheme. The grant-in-aid will be released to the states in installments.
