Centre has granted in principle approval to set up a nuclear power plant in Fatehabad district of Haryana. This information was given Minister of Stare for Planning V.Narayasamy to the Rajya Sabha today. He said that the site for the power plant was offered by the Haryana government and evaluated by the Standing Site Selection Committee of Department of Atomic Energy. The Minister elaborated that the guidelines for siting of nuclear power plants are issued by the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board and all formalities have been completed before granting the approval.
