The Centre has approved a scheme for providing financial aid for setting up 300 Polytechnics across the country. They will come up under the Public- Private Partnership mode.

While the Centre will give three crore rupees for each of these Polytechnics, the State governments' share will be two crore rupees each.

The private partner will have to give ten crore rupees and also provide the land for these Polytechnics.

The Minister of Human Resource Development, Mr. Kapil Sibal gave this information in the Lok Sabha today.
