The government has approved 61 applications with an investment of 19 thousand 77 crore rupees under the production linked incentive, PLI, scheme for Textile sector. Briefing media in New Delhi today, Textile Secretary, UK Singh said, a total of 67 proposals were received, out of which 61 have been approved.<br />''<br />'' He said, the projected turnover by these companies is expected to be around one lakh 85 thousand crore rupees over the period of five years. Mr Singh said, as per the projection made by these companies, around two lakh forty thousand jobs would be generated.<br />''<br />''Last year, the Union Cabinet had approved the Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Textiles. Under it, the incentives worth &nbsp;10 thousand 683 crore rupees will be provided over five years. The scheme will promote production of high-value Man-Made fabrics, Garments, and Technical Textiles in the country.<br />''<br />
