The Centre has appointed a group of three interlocutors to hold sustained dialogue with all sections of the people in Jammu and Kashmir. Noted journalist Dilip Padgaonkar, Information Commissioner M. M. Ansari and academician Prof Radha Kumar have been chosen for the task. They have been entrusted with the responsibility of undertaking a sustained dialogue with the people of Jammu & Kashmir to understand their problems and chart a course for the future. Home Minister P Chidambaram said that one more interlocutor may be included in the group. Chidambaram said that the interlocutors are very credible people and they will begin their work as early as possible. The government hoped that by interacting with all shades of political opinion, the interlocutors will suggest a way forward that truly reflects the aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir, specially the youth. The centre has also appointed two special task forces to examine the development needs of Jammu and Ladhak region of Jammu and Kashmir.
