Centre announces upgradation of two sports stadia in J&K

Centre will upgrade two major sports stadia of Jammu and Kashmir at a cost of 42 crore rupees. These are the Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu and Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. This was announced by Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Dr Jitendra Singh in New Delhi after convening a meeting of his Ministry to discuss some of the pending issues related to Jammu and Kashmir.He said, the government will ensure that the upgradation work should start before the end of this year. The Minister added the existing stadia in Poonch and Rajouri will also be upgraded at a cost of four crore rupees. He also informed that the Centre has plan to build 12 new indoor game halls at different locations in the state soon.
