The government today announced setting up of the Seventh Central Pay Commission. A Finance Ministry statement said, the Prime Minister approved the constitution of the commission, whose recommendations are to be implemented from the 1st of January, 2016. The statement added that the names of the chairperson and members as well as terms of reference of the pay commission will be finalised and announced shortly after consulations with major stakeholders.
