Centre announces Rs 3,250 cr package for decongestion of roads & development of Delhi

Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu has announced a 3,250 crore rupee special assistance for de-congestion of roads and development of Delhi. Under the package, the Delhi government will be provided with 1,500 crore rupees, DDA with 1,665 crore rupees and North Municipal Corporation of Delhi with 85 crore rupees for executing various projects.<br/><br/> Mr Naidu also announced sanction of 96 crore 70 lakh rupees to the Delhi government for taking up Swachh Delhi works through Municipal Bodies and handed over a cheque to city government.<br/><br/>The Minister complimented Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for launching Swachh Delhi campaign and roping in the three MCDS. He also said that political parties should not look at each other as enemies but only as political adversaries and should treat each other with mutual regard and respect and work together for nation building.<br/><br/> Mr Naidu urged the city government and municipal bodies to speed up construction of toilets in national capital.
