Union Home minister P. Chidambaram who reviewed the situation in quake hit Sikkim on Thursday announced that the Centre will release a sum of 50 crore rupees as immediate relief to the earthquake affected people in the state. He said, this will be in addition to the second installment of the Centre's share in the State Disaster Relief Fund that was released on Wednesday.Home Minister, Mr. P.Chidambaram who arrived in Sikkim on Thursday morning visited the injured in the Sunday's Earthquake at the STNM hospital and also the damaged Tashiling Secretariat.Briefing media persons after reviewing the situation with the Governor, Chief Minister and top officers of the State Government, Army and ITBP at Raj Bhawan at Gangtok, the Home Minister assured that the entire country are solidly behind the people of Sikkim in this hour of crisis.
