Centre and state govt should work together to achieve target of making Sikkim model of long-term development: Union minister Piyush Goyal

<span style="color: #222222;">Union minister of commerce and industry, consumer affairs, food and public distribution and textiles, Piyush Goyal today arrived in Sikkim on a three-day visit.<br />''<br />''Mr Goyal attended a review meeting with state government officials at the Tashiling Secretariat in Gangtok. Later, he attended an interaction programme with representatives of Sikkim Chamber of Commerce and Industry.<br />''<br />''Entrepreneurs informed Mr Goyal about various challenges including road and air connectivity in Sikkim. They also sought the central government's support in securing loans for businesses. Mr Goyal said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritized the development of the northeast and launched several schemes. He said the Centre and the state government should work together to achieve the target of making Sikkim a model of long-term development.  <br />''<br />''The minister is scheduled to meet representatives from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's Sikkim Chapter and attend BJP's organizational programme in Gangtok. Tomorrow, he will visit the Atal Incubation Centre, and SMU Technology Business Incubation Foundation at the Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology in Majhitar and interact with startup founders and students. He is also scheduled to visit Soreng during the three-day tour.</span><br />
