The Centre has so far allocated over 9,000 crore rupees for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu told Rajya Sabha, the Mission is making an impact all over the country and gradually turning into a popular campaign for cleanliness. <br/><br/>He claimed almost 44 per cent of the municipal solid waste is now being collected door to door, against a target of 50 per cent by end of this month. In an answer to a starred question in the House, Naidu said the Electricity Tariff Policy has been amended to procure power produced from all waste-to-energy plants in the states.
