Centre allocates over Rs 2,000 crore to Meghalaya for annual plan

Centre today allocated two thousand two hundred thirty crore rupees to Meghalaya for the annual plan of 2010-2011. This is increase of six per cent hike in the budget allocation as compared to the previous year's allocation for the state. Satisfied with his meeting with the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission, Mr Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Meghalaya chief minister, Dr Mukul Sangma said the present government carries huge responsibilities of meeting genuine needs and aspirations of the people of the state. <br/>
