He visited the project site for the construction of a new fishing harbour at Azhagan Kuppam in Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu under the Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund. </span><br />''<br />''He told the reporters, the Centre has allocated 20 thousand crore rupees for Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, which he said, is unprecedented in the Indian fisheries sector.<br />''<br />''Dr Murugan said, the Centre has announced in the recent Budget that five fishing harbours would be upgraded to international standards, including the one at Kasimedu in Chennai. He said, two new fishing harbours will be established between Chennai and Puducherry, including the one at the Azhagankuppam village in Villupuram district. He said, modernization of fishing harbours is being given a boost in the country.<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">The Minister also inspected a few units of shrimp hatcheries at Mudaliarkuppam in the district and interacted with the farmers.</span><br />
