‘Centre again urges naxalites to come forward for talks

The Centre once again urged the naxalites to come forward for talks shunning down the path of violence. Addressing a special session of the Bharat Chamber of Commerce in Kolkata today, the Union Home Minister, P.Chidambaram said that the offer for talks is still open and government does not want to put any pre-condition for talks such as laying down of arms, surrender or leaving of their ideology. Mr. Chidambaram said, only appeal to them for talks is to stop violence.The Union Home Minister reiterated that the left wing extremist movement is a greater challenge to tackle terrorism and the government has decided to spend 3300 crore rupees for socio-economic development in 60 naxalites infested districts in the country.Mr. Chidambaram said that the Indian force is facing multiple security challenges and to deal with these, more stress is being given on intelligence gathering, investigation and strengthening of counter-terrorism agency.The Home Minister informed that the Government is contemplating to ensure rights to grievance redressal and right to corruption free administration on the line of Right to Work, Information and Education Act.
