The Centre has advised flood affected states of Punjab and Haryana to utilize the balances available at their disposal under Calamity Relief Fund for immidiate restoration and repair works and for providing immidiate relief to the affected people. <br/><br/>AIR Jalandhar Correspondent reports that according to an advisory issued by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs to governments of both the states today, Punjab has more than 2316 crore rupees and Haryana more than 1151 crore rupees as balances available under the fund. <br/><br/>Besides, advising the state governments to immediately utilise these resources, it has also been informed that in case of additional Central assistance, a Memorandum indicating the total assessed damage may be sent to the Central Government urgently so that the dispatch of a Central Team can be considered.
