The eight member Central team, which had arrived Ranchi on Thursday to assess the situation of drought in Jharkhand, had visited Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ramgardh, Hazaribagh and Chatra districts and met the respective Deputy Commissioners alongwith other officers of these districts. The team also met with few villagers during their visit. During the interaction, many villagers and their representatives said that the situation is very severe, like a situation of famine, because of two consecutive years of drought. The Central team assured them of appropriate report on the situation.
