An inter-ministerial central team of senior officers will visit Assam tomorrow to take stock of the relief and rehabilitation measures in the violence hit areas. Official sources said that seven-member delegation of Joint Secretaries will visit Kokrajhar, Dhubri, Chirang and Baksa from tomorrow to 23rd of this month.
Meanwhile, no untoward incident has been reported in the violence hit in the last 48 hours. Despite the violence in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts and Dhubri and departure of thousands of people from other states, could not dampen the spirits of Id-Ul-Fitr.
Thousands of Muslims joined the special prayers in violence hit areas. Special foods were served in the relief camps. Clothes were also distributed among the inmates by the district administration. People from other communities are also seen busy with hugging and embracing each other with all truthfulness. In the violence hit areas people from Assamese, Bodo, Bengali and Rabha communities made arrangements for their Muslim brothers. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi also attended Id prayer at Mashkhowa Idgah in Guwahati.
