Central team to visit food-hit Haryana

A central team led by Joint Secretary R P Nath will visit flood affected districts in Haryana on July 19th and 20th to assess the flood situation. A spokesman of the Haryana Government said the team was coming to calculate the damage caused in the state due to flood. The team will report the whole situation to the Centre. He said that state had sought a central financial aid of around Rs 1, 023 crore to meet the losses. He said that the Government had intensified the relief and rescue operations and every possible help had been extended to the flood-hit areas to normalise the situation as early as possible. The authorities have been instructed to settle the flood migrants back in their houses where the water has receded completely.
