Central team to visit drought-affected areas of Bihar on Wednesday

A Central team will visit the drought-affected areas of Bihar on Wednesday to take stock of the situation. Giving this information in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday during the question hour, the Agriculture Minister, Mr Sharad Pawar said in respect of Jharkhand, the centre will depute a team only after knowing the suitable timing from the state. The Minister shared the concern of several members about the prevailing drought like situation in several parts of the country. Replying to the main question on Agriculture extension programmes, the Minister said over 112 lakh farmers have benefited under scheme during the last three years. They included 27 lakh female farmers.
