The Central team lead by Central Water Commission Chief Engineer R.K.Gupta will be interacting with farmers of Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur in Tamil Nadu today, hearing the grievances of Delta farmers about Cauvery water needs for Samba cultivation.The central team apart from Mr Gupta consisting of Central Water Commission Director T K Sivarajan, Superintinding Engineer Virender Sharma and Deputy Director Pradeep Thakur will be interacting with delta farmers today. The central team had inspected the Kallanai Dam and then interacted with farmers of Kadambangudi and Gugalur in Thanjavur district. The farmers requested the team to ensure continuous flow of water till January to save their Samba crops. The farmers of delta districts of Tamil Nadu, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam are waiting with baited breaths as Cauvery water alone can save their Samba cultivation.
