The high-level multi-disciplinary team, which was rushed to Kerala after the state reported the country's first case of Monkeypox, is holding consultations with the State Government authorities in Thiruvananthapuram. The team will assist in instituting adequate public health measures to deal with the situation.<br />'' <br />'' Monkeypox was confirmed in a 35-year-old Kollam native who reached the state capital on Tuesday from the United Arab Emirates. Besides the patient, his close contacts including his parents and two drivers have also been isolated. As many as 11 people who sat close to the patient on the flight have been alerted.<br />'' <br />''State Health Minister Veena George said, there is no need for concern and that government has taken adequate measures to contain the infection. Only symptomatic surveillance was required in the case of Monkeypox, the Minister added.
