In Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, the Central team deputed for the assessment of flood damages is inspecting various affected districts for the second day today. The eight member inter-ministerial team headed by the Union Home Ministry Joint Secretary TVSN Prasad visited Chennai yesterday. The team is undertaking their inspections today in Tiruvallur, Tuticorin and Kanchipuram districts and the Union Territory of Puducherry. <br/><br/>The eight member high level team has split into three groups and are undertaking their second and final phase of its inspections. The first group comprising three members is touring Tiruvallur district. It is scheduled to go to neighbouring Kanchipuram district in the evening. The second group with equal strength is surveying affected areas in the southern Tuticorin district. <br/><br/>Earlier, it was complained that the team was not brought to the southern parts, and the visit now would help assuage the feelings. Another group of two members is on tour in Puducherry. The Central team leader Prasad has said its consolidated report on total damages on the basis of its two-phased visit would be submitted in due time to the Union Home Ministry.
