The Centre will soon send a team of officials to Arunachal Pradesh to assess the damages caused by the recent spate of floods in the state. Union Home Minister P Chidambaram informed about this to the state Chief Minister Nabam Tuki who briefed him at New Delhi yesterday about the extensive damages caused by the recent spate of flash floods in the state. Heavy and continuous rainfall in June and early July had triggered an unprecedented spate of flash floods across the state.Farmers have borne huge losses due to the disruption of power and water supplies and inundation of vast lands of agriculture and horticulture. Chidambaram assured Tuki that a final decision will be taken after submission of the report by the team.
