They are being accompanied by the District Collectors concerned and senior officials to explain the extent of damages to public infrastructure, crops and properties.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the MET Department in Chennai has said the Upper Air Circulation that is prevailing now over the South Bay region is set to gain steam and become a new Low Pressure Area in the next 24 hours. Its weather bulletin says the new system may move towards the West-North West direction close to the Tamil Nadu shores in the next few days. Tamil Nadu and Puducherry have received rainfall in excess of 64 per cent since the onset of the North East Monsoon this year so far. Except Madurai, which has registered a marginal deficit, all the 37 other districts report rainfall in excess this season.</span>
