<span style="color: #222222;">The Central Team led by Union Home Ministry Joint Secretary Rajiv Sharma has wound up its inspection of the flood affected regions in Tamil Nadu today. They made an on-the-spot assessment of the damages to public infrastructure and crops and properties in the affected districts including Chennai, Kanyakumari, Vellore, Ranipet and the Delta region and also the neighbouring Union Territory of Puducherry since last Sunday.<br />''<br />''They had a debriefing session  with the state Chief Minister MK Stalin and the ministers and higher officials at the Secretariat in Chennai this morning.<br />''<br />''The chairperson of the team Rajiv Sharma has earlier told newspersons that their report on the extent of the losses due to the floods will be submitted to the Union Home Ministry at the earliest.<br />''<br />''Meanwhile, the Chief Minister MK Stalin has interacted with all the district collectors about the flood situation today through video conferencing. AIR correspondent reports that the Chief Minister MK Stalin is understood to have interacted with the district collectors about the extent of the damages due to the devastating floods that ravaged many parts recently. He has also discussed about the ongoing relief efforts.<br />''<br />''The North East Monsoon normally prevails in the state and its neighbourhood till the end of December. Therefore it is also said that the chief minister has discussed with the district officials on mitigating the effects of floods if it occurs in the coming days. Meanwhile the MET Department in Chennai has said, the prevailing upper air circulation in the South Bay is expected to intensify into a Low Pressure Area in the next twenty four hours. It is thereafter set to move towards the South Tamil Nadu coast, triggering sporadic heavy rains in some of the southern districts and light showers to moderate rain in other parts of the state for the next three days.</span><br />
