Central team in Bihar to assess drought situation A six member central team headed by the Joint Secretary Ministry of Agriculture Pankaj Kumar is in Bihar to assess the drought situation in the state. AIR Patna correspondent reports, the team members are visiting drought affected areas in four groups.The team members will visit affected districts till Friday and collect facts and figures pertaining to drought. The team will submit its report to the centre which will form the basis for central assistance to Bihar.Chief Minister Nitish kumar met the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh a few days back and sought an immediate financial assistance of over five thousand crore rupees to tackle the drought situation in the state. Twenty eight districts in the State have been declared as famine-hit.
