Central team asks Bihar govt to hike testing capacity in view of spike in Covid-19 cases

The central team has asked the Bihar government to hike testing capacity in view of a spike in Covid-19 cases throughout the state. Citing Bihar case doubling rate, which is around 12 days, the team forewarned the state to prepare itself to admit new cases in hospitals. The team also stressed on increasing the testing capacity through RT PCR, a confirmatory test for Covid-19.<br />'' <br />'' The three-member central team led by Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Lav Agrawal who is on two days to Bihar visited containment zones in Patna and reviewed measures. The team emphasized upon the containment of virus by contact tracing and testing of Covid. The Central Team will today hold a review meeting at Gaya and assess the prevailing situation.<br />'' <br />'' Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwani Kumar Choubey said the central government will provide all possible help to Bihar and there will be no shortage of resources.<br />'' <br />'' Meanwhile, Corona positive cases in the state mounted to 26 thousand three hundred seventy nine with reporting of 1,412 fresh cases. Sixteen thousand five hundred ninety seven patients have recovered so far. 9,602 patients are under treatment. 208 people died due to Corona so far. Recovery rate in Bihar has reached 63 percent.  <br />
