In Arunachal Pradesh, the five-member central inter-ministerial team headed by K.K. Mittal, Joint Secretary, Home Affairs has assured the Lohit district authority of central assistance and support to solve the flood problem permanently. While apprising the visiting central team of the major flood problems in the district, Lohit deputy commissioner R K Sharma said that the district has been adversely affected by the flood in 2004 and no permanent or temporary restoration work could be possible due to financial constraint. The people of the area have been living under constant threat of fresh floods every year.
