The Minister Of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal informed the Lok Sabha that, the Government has brought out a new Central Sector Scheme – 'Transport and Marketing Assistance (TMA)  for Specified Agriculture Products' – for providing assistance for the international component of freight, to mitigate the freight disadvantage for the export of agriculture products and marketing of agricultural products.<br />''<br />''<br />'' In a written reply to a question, he said that the assistance under the Scheme is likely to result in higher exports of branded agriculture products in overseas markets, through enhanced competitiveness.<br />''<br />''The Scheme was notified on 27th February 2019. The assistance under the Scheme is available to exporters of specified agricultural products. The Scheme covers all the agricultural products, falling under Chapters 1 to 24 of ITC (HS) Code List, with the exceptions such as Live animals – Meat and Edible Meat Offal – Products of Animal Origin and various milk-based items.<br />''<br />''<br />
