The Central Reserve Police Force today celebrated its 78th Anniversary at CRPF Headquarters in New Delhi. <br/><br/>Director General, CRPF, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar commemorated and paid homage to the Martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice by laying their lives in the cause of national security. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Bhatnagar said, the core motive of CRPF is to ensure internal security to the nation. <br/><br/>Highlighting the achievements of CRPF in the recent time he said, the force has played a pivotal role in ensuring smooth conduct of recently held elections in five states this year and ensured peace during communal unrests. <br/><br/>He said, CRPF has successfully neutralized several terrorist attacks in J&K. Replying to a query, Mr. Bhatnagar said, there is a decrease in the stone pelting incidents in J&K, where J&K police, CRPF and army are working in close collaboration to neutralize such incidents. <br/> <br/>He said, force has got drills, standard operating procedures and good protective gears. He said, less lethal weapons are being used to disperse the crowd involved in incidents like stone pelting.
