The Centre has released an amount of more than nine crore rupees to Delhi towards Post-Matric Scholarships scheme as financial assistance to students belonging to Scheduled Castes. An official release said that about 48 lakh students are expected to be covered under the scheme this year. AIR correspondent reports that the flagship scheme under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is the single largest intervention by the Government for educational development of such students.
