Central Observer team touring West Bengal to assess drought situation

An eight member Central Observer team is now touring West Bengal to assess the drought situation in the State. The team is being led by Joint Secretary to the agriculture Ministry E.K.Majhi. The team had a meeting with the Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharya and then had a separate meeting with Secretaries of concerned Ministries like Agriculture, Irrigation and Land Reform etc.The team has been split into two different groups as they will survey the drought situation in eleven different districts before preparing a report on the basis of which Central Government will help the state.
