He said that in 2016 the country got only two medals while in the 2022 Olympic Games, Indian players' bagged seven medals.<br />''<br />''Mentioning the sports achievements of the country, Mr. Thakur said that in 2014, when Modiji became the Prime Minister, the Sports budget was 866 crore rupees. The Government has increased it to more than 2000 crore rupees.<br />''<br />''Mr. Thakur clarified that when the basic structure and sports infrastructure are built, only then the players will be able to move forward.<br />''<br />''Describing the benefits of Khelo India centres, the Union Sports Minister said that 1000 Khelo India centres are being built across the country; permission has been granted for 750 centres. This year, before the 15th of August 2023, 1000 centres of Khelo India will be built and completed. Ex-players get five lakh rupees for running the centre for a year, due to which they get an opportunity to provide training for sports along with self-employment, he added.<br />''<br />''Mr. Thakur has announced plans to build an indoor stadium in Jabalpur, in which international matches of 18 types of sports can be played in future. This indoor stadium will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities which will be built by the Central Government.<br />''<br />''Minister also visited the All India Radio Centre in Jabalpur and held a review meeting with the officials and also gave directions to keep the premises clean.</span>
