The Central government has estimated to procure 300 to 320 Lakh Tonnes of wheat during the upcoming Rabi Marketing Season, The Consumer Affairs Ministry held a meeting with State Food Secretaries in New Delhi to discuss procurement during the Rabi Marketing Season and Kharif Marketing Season. The estimates for paddy procurement in terms of rice have been fixed between 90 to 100 Lakh Tonnes and millets procurement at around 6 Lakh Tonnes during the 2024-25 Kharif Marketing Season.&nbsp;<br />”<br />”The Ministry said that states and Union Territories have been advised to focus on the procurement of millets for the diversification of crops and enhanced nutrition in dietary patterns. It has also advised State Governments to adopt or improvise their existing applications in line with the standard and core features of the AgriStack portal. The Ministry said that this will bring transparency and efficiency in the procurement system, before the start of the upcoming Kharif Marketing Season.<br />
