Central forces to guard 32 assembly constituencies on Sat: EC

The Election Commission today asserted that Central Forces will be deployed for the conduct of bye-elections to the 32 assembly constituencies tomorrow. The Ferozebad Lok Sabha seat in UP is also going to polls tomorrow. The assertion came in the wake of Kerala Chief Minister's reported remark that central forces will be confined to barracks during bypolls to three assembly seats in the state. The EC said in a statement that the Forces will guard the polling stations on the day of the poll to ensure free and fair election in<br/>accordance with Commission's instructions. It said, once drafted by the Commission, all police forces whether state or Central, stand deputed to the Election Commission. Central Forces have already been deployed in Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Kerala.<br/>
