In Assam, Central Customs department seized ten gold bars weighing 1.166 kg and arrested two persons from Cachar District of Barak Valley last night. The two persons have been identified as Thoibi Devi Singh and Ibobi Singh and were arrested from a vehicle on their way to Imphal. Officials said that the international market value of the bars will be Rs 30 lakh approximately. Officials suspect that the gold bars have been brought from Bangladesh and were being transported to Imphal via Silchar.
