Central Commission in Jharkhand to investigate illegal mining

In Jharkhand, five member Shah Commission constituted by central Government has arrived at Ranchi to investigate complaints of illegal mining in the state.

The Commission will hear complaints connected with illegal mining today and tomorrow.

Earlier, the Commission held a meeting with the top level officers of the state. Our Correspondent reports that the Commission was breifed about various steps undertaken by the state government.

About 20 iron-ore mines are at present closed in the state due to renewal of lease.
